The 11th annual Lakeview Health Foundation Winemaker’s Forum June 6 at 7 Vines Vineyard in Dellwood raised a record-setting $103,000 for prescription medicines for patients who can’t afford them.

More than 200 guests sampled wines from Wines from Benguela Cove in South Africa, paired with small plates from Lake Elmo Inn. Live music and a live auction were also part of the event.

The Winemaker’s Forum has raised more than $725,000 for hundreds of Lakeview Hospital and Stillwater Medical Group patients since the event’s inception in 2009. Every year, the foundation hosts its evening of wine and food pairings to benefit the hospital’s prescription assistance program.

“Thanks to the generosity of attendees at this event over the years, hundreds of patients who could not afford their prescriptions received their medicine free of charge. This year especially, we are so grateful for this high level of support from the community,” said Paul Erickson, executive director of Lakeview Health Foundation. “It was a wonderful evening, both social and philanthropic, and we are so thankful to our community.”
