Sydney Rogness

Girls swimming and diving

Sydney Rogness is enjoying another strong season for the Stillwater girls’ swimming and diving team, which knocked off Roseville and Hudson in dual meets over the past week.

The junior contributed two first-place finishes in Stillwater’s nonconference victory over Hudson on Oct. 1. Rogness won the 200 individual medley and the 100 freestyle. She also contributed to victories in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

The Ponies (5-0 SEC, 6-0) are scheduled to host Woodbury on Oct. 10.

Hudson Day

Following a disappointing loss to Woodbury on homecoming, the Stillwater football team knocked off previously unbeaten and fifth-ranked Mounds View 22-21 in overtime on Sept. 27.

Cornerback Hudson Day contributed his share on defense, finishing with 11 solo tackles, including two for a loss, and six assisted tackles for a team-high 32 defensive points. The senior has forced three fumbles and leads the Ponies with 107 defensive points this season.

Stillwater (2-2 EM, 2-3) travels to Shakopee for a sub-district cross-over game on Oct. 4.
