Little orphan Annie once again will charm her way into the hearts of audience members when “Annie KIDS,” presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI), is staged at The Zephyr Theatre this month.
But while the plucky little redhead may be the star of the show, there’s another coveted role in this production — Sandy the dog, who even gets to sing along on the familiar tune “Tomorrow.”
Annie, Sandy and the rest of the cast in this ambitious production will be portrayed by 32 youngsters ages 8 to 11. They are all members of The Zephyr Children’s Theatre, a 3-year-old performance program.
“We really believe in the kids and what they can do,” said Cassidy Hall, director of The Zephyr Children’s Theatre. “The program has a strong reputation for having high expectations of the young singers, dancers, and actors while always encouraging and focusing on each child’s individual growth.”
“Annie KIDS” will be presented at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, and Wednesday, Oct. 9, at The Zephyr Theatre, 601 Main St. N., Stillwater. Tickets are $10, $6 for students, and free for ages 4 and younger and are available at stillwaterzephyrtheatre.org/2019/09/annie-kids/ or 651-342-1542.

New sustaining membership options
When Zephyr supporters become sustaining members of the theatre by committing to a monthly donation of any amount, they will receive member benefits.
Sustaining members provide year-round support that contributes to the theatre’s cash flow and financial stability. That support allows The Zephyr to continue creating new programs, productions, and opportunities.
All donations are tax-deductible. For more information, visit stillwaterzephyrtheatre.org/sustaining or call 651-342-1542.
Commemorative bricks options
The Zephyr Theatre is also continuing its “Of Bricks, Pavers, and Tiles” donation option. Supporters may purchase $1,000 custom-engraved bricks for the grand vestibule wall of donors to be built at the entrance of the planned auditorium addition.
Also available for purchase are custom-engraved walkway and porte-cochere entry pavers ($350 to $750) and custom-engraved floor tiles for the bar and planned bakery ($500 or $1,500).

The professional theatre company presents plays, concerts, visual arts, literary arts, and other performance events on two on-site stages.
