The St. Michael-Albertville Girls Tennis Team played Wayzata last week and lost a good match 2-5.

Next was hosting Champlin Park and Delano, where the team won against Champlin 4-3, while losing to Delano 2-5.

“(Champlin) was a good win for us as they are in our section,” Coach Tyler Creelman said. “I was very pleased with how the team played in that match.”

The team score was 3-3 and Olivia Flaten and Elle Potts pulled out a big win.

“Then we played Delano and lost 2-5. It was a great match back and fourth the whole way but we just came up short. For awhile it really looked like we were going to win it but we couldn’t quite get over the hump,” Creelman said. “When you play good teams like that you got to take advantage of your opportunities. I loved the way our girls battled though. Our goal is to get better everyday and we are doing that.”

This week the girls play #1 Ranked Edina and #10 ranked Eden Prairie.
