The Knights boys hockey team gave up nine goals in two straight games as they lost to Wayzata and Eden Prairie.
STMA gave up two goals in the opening period, and two more goals in the second period against Wayzata on Jan. 12.
Trailing 4-0 heading into the final period, the Knights gave up five more goals in the third, falling by a final score of 9-0. The Knights had limited chances, managing just 10 shots on goal to Wayzata’s 46.
Eden Prairie
The Knights hosted Eden Prairie on Saturday night, Jan. 14, falling by a score of 9-3.
STMA avoided a shutout in this game thanks to a hat trick by Tyler Jordan. His first goal came in the opening period, cutting into Eden Prairie’s lead at 2-1.
Jordan’s next goal (Caleb Waller, Blake Couet) came in the third period on a power play. His third goal (Waller) came a few minutes later in the third, completing a hat trick.
The Knights fell to 1-11 with the loss. They have yet to win a conference game.
STMA played Brainerd on Tuesday. The Knights play Buffalo on Thursday night, Jan. 19, and play Edina on Saturday, Jan. 21.
