The following contains a sample of calls reported by Rogers Police from Monday, May 27, through Sunday, June 2.
Tuesday, May 28
Officer was dispatched to a residence for a 71 year old male with dementia that had gone missing and was believed to be driving a vehicle. The vehicle was fitted with a GPS tracker as the Officer worked with Wright County Dispatch and located the party in his vehicle in St Michael. The male’s family went to pick up the male and the vehicle as they did not believe medical attention was needed.
Officer was dispatched to a burglary report in a new development at Creekside Trail off Territorial Road and Brockton Lane. Officer met with the construction manager who had discovered the home burglarized.
Wednesday, May 29
Maplewood Police located enclosed trailer in their city that had VIN scratched off, and license sticker removed. Maplewood Police located secondary VIN and asked officer to check with owner to see if trailer was stolen. Officer spoke to owner and verified that trailer was stolen. Trailer contained toolboxes and tools prior to the theft, which were not in the trailer. Estimated loss: $21,600.
Thursday, May 30
Officer recognized a vehicle parked in the lot of Super 8 where the occupant was believed to have a warrant. Officer confirmed that he did in fact have an active Wright County warrant for GM DAC-IPS. Rodney Hinrichs, 37, was arrested on the warrant and transported to St. Michael where a Wright County Deputy took custody of the subject.
Officer was dispatched to Target for a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival the officer met with loss prevention and the suspect. The suspect had refused to identify himself to loss prevention and was walking out the employee door of the business when the officer arrived. The 20-year-old male suspect was arrested for misdemeanor theft and booked and released from Rogers PD with a citation.
Friday, May 31
State Patrol aired call of male walking down roadway at Main and South Diamond Lake. Officer located male, who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Sherburne County. Dispatch confirmed the warrant and officer booked Lyle Welsh, 61, at Sherburne County Jail.
School Resource Officers responded to a medical at the Rogers High School. A student was having breathing problems. North Ambulance arrived on scene and gave patient care. Student and parent agreed to decline transport and the student remained with the school nurse.
Officers responded to business at Commerce Boulevard in regards to a domestic dispute. A 38-year-old male was arrested.
Officers dispatched to an unconscious party not breathing on the bathroom floor of business located in the 13400 block of Rogers Drive. Officers arrived on scene and administered Narcan and started medical aid. Patient started breathing on her own. Female party was transported to a hospital.
Saturday, June 1
Officers were dispatched to a vehicle off the roadway on westbound I-94. Officer arrived to find an adult male, and lone occupant of the vehicle unresponsive and not breathing. Officer and the complainant were able to remove the male from the vehicle and begin CPR before Rogers Fire, State Patrol and North Ambulance arrived. The male was transported to the U of M by ambulance as the vehicle was towed.
