The following contains a sample of calls reported by Rogers Police from Monday, Sept. 23, through Sunday, Sept. 29.
Tuesday, Sept. 24
A 54-year-old female was arrested for DWI at Main Street.
Officers were dispatched to an unwanted ex-employee at a business in the 20100 block of South Diamond Lake Road. Prior to arriving, incident became physical. Officers arrived on scene and investigated the incident. The ex-employee, a 24-year-old male, was cited for 5th degree assault.
Wednesday, Sept. 25
Officers were dispatched to a hotel in the 21100 block of 134th Avenue for a warrant pickup. The suspect called dispatch from the hotel and asked why officers had been looking for him earlier in the day. Officers went to the hotel and took the 31-year-old male into custody on a felony warrant out of Mower County. He was transported to Hennepin County Jail and turned over to corrections staff.
Thursday, Sept. 26
Officers were dispatched to two suspicious vehicles at a park near the intersection of Trail Haven Road and Sidney Way. Contact was made with three males who were in one of the vehicles. The males admitted to consuming alcohol and two of them were under 21. A canine was deployed for a narcotics sniff on the vehicle and the vehicle was searched. Beer and a marijuana pipe were discovered during the search. The two underage males were cited for minor consumption and the third male was cited for drug paraphernalia.
Friday, Sept. 27
Officer was dispatched to a theft report that occurred Sept. 26. Suspect entered Kohl’s and placed $610 worth of merchandise into a bag and walked out without paying or forfeiting the items. Case forwarded to the Rogers Police Departments Detectives Unit.
Officers were dispatched to Kohl’s for a possible theft in progress. Officer spoke with the reporting party who stated a female was exiting the store with unpaid for merchandise. Officer located the female as she admitted to a misdemeanor theft.
Dispatched to a suspicious vehicle parked on Harmony Ave. Driver was reported to have been tearing his car apart and acting erratically. Upon arrival, driver claimed he had run out of gas. Driver was detained after a weapons search found a meth pipe. Canine alerted on the vehicle and drug paraphernalia was located. The 30-year-old male driver was cited for driving after suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was impounded.
Saturday, Sept. 28
Officer stopped vehicle for failing to dim headlights and for nearly hitting median at Gardner Avenue and Orchid. Officer smelled strong odor of alcoholic beverage. Driver denied drinking. Driver failed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and refused to submit to Preliminary Breath Test. Officer arrested driver. The 39-year-old female driver was booked at Hennepin County Jail.
