The following is a synopsis of some of the incidents that occurred in the city during the week of Sept. 15 to 21, 2019. Refer to the city’s website Crime Mapping Section for additional details for the crimes of burglary, robbery, arson, theft and vehicle theft.

Sunday, Sept. 15

9600 block of Grove Circle — There was a report of a disturbance. Officer responded and found group of people were causing a disturbance in the parking lot of business and were uncooperative when asked by staff to leave. The party was advised they would be arrested for trespassing if they did not cooperate and left without further incident.

Elm Creek Blvd. & Vinewood Lane — An officer on routine patrol observed unsafe driving conduct. Contact with the 24-year-old male driver indicated signs of intoxication. He was arrested for DWI, fleeing a police officer and careless driving

8000 block of Wedgewood Lane — There was a report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found adult female had stolen merchandise from the business. The 36-year-old female suspect was located and arrested for theft and trespassed from the store.

A 68-year-old male was cited for DWI, DUI and careless driving on the 12800 block of 73rd Ave. N.

Monday, Sept. 16

8000 block of Magnolia Lane — There was a report of theft from a vehicle. Officer responded and found license plate had been stolen from vehicle parked near residence. No suspect information.

9800 block of Maple Grove Parkway — There was a report of theft. Officer responded and found a large amount of cash had been stolen from purse left unattended at business. No suspect information.

9100 block of Zanzibar Lane — There was a report of suspicious activity. Officer responded and found adult male sleeping in car parked on street. The individual stated he was waiting for a friend; there were no issues.

A 63-year-old male was cited for disorderly conduct at 83rd Way and Weaver Lake Road.

A 56-year-old male was cited for theft on the 9400 block of Dunkirk Lane.

A 34-year-old male was cited for assault and disorderly conduct on the 9500 block of Garland Lane.

Tuesday, Sept. 17

8400 block of Dunkirk Lane — An officer on routine patrol made contact with occupant asleep inside vehicle in park after hours. The 19-year-old male was arrested for possession of controlled substance.

8600 block of Goldenrod Lane — There was a report of a theft. Officer made contact and found landscaping rocks had been stolen from building. The incident is under investigation.  

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane — There was a report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found a 27-year-old female and a 29-year-old female had stolen merchandise from the store. Both were arrested for theft and trespassed from the business.

A 29-year-old female was cited for giving a peace officer a false name, warrant arrest, driving after revocation, uninsured vehicle and aiding and abetting a crime on the 8000 block of Wedgewood Lane.

A 37-year-old female was cited for registration-intent to escape motor vehicle tax, possession of drug paraphernalia, uninsured vehicle, operating a vehicle with expired registration, and fraud on the 8000 block of Wedgewood Lane.

Wednesday, Sept. 18

9100 block of Chesshire Lane — There was a report of vandalism. Officer made contact and found homeowner stated residence had been toilet papered overnight. No suspect information.

12000 block of Central Park Way — There was a report of theft from a vehicle. Officer responded and found purse and cell phone had been stolen from vehicle parked in lot. Subsequent fraudulent transactions had occurred on credit cards. The incident is under investigation.

15900 block of 73rd Place — There was a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officer made contact and found unknown vehicle had been seen frequently coming and going in residential area. Extra patrol advised.

Thursday, Sept. 19

85th Ave. & Yucca Lane — There was a report of damage to property. Officer responded and found tire tracks in several yards of residences. No suspect information.

17800 block of 66th Ave. — There was a report of fraud. Officer made contact and found individual had unauthorized charges on his bank account. No suspect information.

17300 block of 88th Ave. — There was a report of suspicious activity. Officer made contact with individual outside of residence who was in possession of an air soft gun to scare wildlife away from bird feeder. There were no issues.

A 28-year-old male was cited for fifth degree possession of methamphetamine on the 10 block of Eighth Ave. N.E. in Osseo.

A 39-year-old female was cited for DUI, DWI, and careless driving at Elm Creek Blvd. and Weaver Lake Road.

Friday, Sept. 20

8000 block of Wedgewood Lane — There was a report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found suspect had stolen merchandise and left the scene. The incident is under investigation.

93rd Ave. & Rice Lake Road — An officer on routine patrol made contact with adult male driver of vehicle for traffic violation and was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

13800 block of 83rd Way — There was a report of a recovered vehicle. Officer responded and found unoccupied vehicle had been stolen in another jurisdiction. It was towed from the scene for safekeeping.

Saturday, Sept. 21

16800 block of 79th Ave. — There was a report of a domestic assault. Officer responded and found a 34-year-old female had assaulted male following verbal disagreement. She was arrested for domestic assault.

13900 block of Grove Drive — There was a report of an unwanted person. Officer responded and found a group of intoxicated males were causing a disturbance at business. A ride was arranged and they left the scene without further problems.

9100 block of Comstock Lane — There was a report of vandalism. Officer made contact and found lobby entrance door of building had been broken apparently by rock left on scene. No suspect information.

A 64-year-old male was cited for disorderly conduct and trespass notice served on the 16500 block of 96th Ave.

A 35-year-old male was cited for possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle at Hemlock Lane and Main St.

Other

During this time period there were 36 property damage traffic accidents and two property damage injury traffic accidents.
