Voters in the Wayzata School District (ISD 284) elected three incumbents and one newcomer to four open seats on Wayzata School Board in school district elections on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Eight candidates competed for the four open School Board seats. Winners were newcomer Seanne Falconer of Plymouth (1,075 votes, 12.21 percent) and incumbents Cheryl Polzin of Plymouth (1,441votes, 16.37 percent), Bonita Lucky of Plymouth (1,133 votes, 12.87 percent) and Linda Cohen of Minnetonka (1,425 votes, 16.19 percent).

Vote totals for unsuccessful candidates were Emily Fair of Plymouth (917 votes, 10.42 percent), Vishala Kamojjala of Plymouth (990 votes, 11.24 percent), Bindu Moram of Plymouth (855 votes, 9.71 percent), and Sheila Prior of Plymouth (922 votes, 10.47 percent).

The Wayzata School District includes all or part of Corcoran, Maple Grove, Medicine Lake, Medina, Minnetonka, Orono, Plymouth and Wayzata. Dist. 284 had 44,592 voters registered at 7 a.m. on Election Day. Vote totals are with all precincts reporting. Results are unofficial until certified by the Wayzata School Board.
