Over 200 children participated in the recent Osseo High School Youth Track and Field Program.

Oriole head track and field coach John Rundquist organized the three-week program. Run by Osseo High coaches and athletes, the program aimed to introduce youths to the many fun and healthy events in track and field.

“This is our third year of doing this program,” Rundquist said. “We had over 200 kids in the program and we ended the three-week program with an intrasquad meet June 13.”

Participants took part in relay races, individual running events such as open runs and hurdles, and also field events such as shot put, discus, long jump and high jump.
