Osseo Area Schools currently has open positions on three of the district’s advisory groups.
Advisory group openings provide volunteer opportunities for families and community members to gain leadership skills, give back to their community and help influence the future of the district. Below is an overview of the three advisory teams that are seeking applicants.
The Financial Involvement School-Community Accountability Liaisons (FISCAL) Advisory team helps to shape the future for students, families and community in Osseo Area Schools by providing community-based input and feedback on district financial matters. Members of this team have strong financial skills. Applications are due Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 4:30 p.m.
The Risk and Emergency Management Advisory Committee (REMAC) works to continuously improve the district’s Risk and Emergency Management Plan and is looking for applicants who have a high interest in school safety and ensuring a healthy environment for students and staff. Current committee members include staff, community partners, police officers and fire department representatives. Applications are due Friday, Aug. 23 at 4:30 p.m.
The Student Wellness Advisory Committee (SWAC) members have an interest in health and wellness and provide meaningful input on the implementation, review and evaluation of the district’s wellness policy. Student Wellness Advisory Committee members commit to serving two-year terms. Applications are due Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 4:30 p.m.
Applicants should demonstrate a collaborative and positive attitude while working with other committee members who bring diverse perspectives and be able to attend meetings throughout the school year.
