Maple Grove wrestling notches two more victories

Maple Grove wrestling improved their season dual record to 7-3 this Jan. 6, at Centennial High School. In the first dual of the evening, the Crimson defeated the Cougars 54-28, avenging last year’s result where the Crimson were defeated by Centennial.

Match winners included: Alex Fox (106 pounds), Cole Cryzen (113), who picked up his first career varsity win, Connor Peterson (126), Thomas Schlangen (138), Max Johnson (145), Ben Schultz (152), Julian Stevens (182), and Luis Haro (heavyweight).

In their second dual, the Crimson defeated Champlin Park 45-21. Match winners were: Cole Cryzen (106 pounds), Connor Peterson (120), Juan Maldonado (126), Rufus Bartee (132), Max Johnson (145), Ben Schultz (152), Julian Stevens (170), Nick Wentland (182), and Luis Haro (heavyweight).


The Crimson will return to action this Friday when they host Apple Valley and Andover at Maple Grove High School. On Saturday, they travel to Mounds View for the Mounds View dual tournament.
