Champlin Park High School Students in Action team earned a first place finish in the Multiplying Good competition and will be attending the National Award ceremony in Washington, D.C. next month. Champlin Park High School Students in Action team earned a first place finish in the Multiplying Good (formerly known as Jefferson Awards) competition in April and will be attending the National Award ceremony in Washington, D.C. on June 18 to learn if they earned a national prize.

The students took service projects addressing homelessness completed throughout the school year to the next step with the competition by completing a written and oral presentation about their service, the impact it had and the lessons they learned from completing the service projects.

The students involved and pictured here are Will Asinger, 16, Megha Verghese, 16, Grace Bassekle, 17, Vanessa Vaudrey, 16, and Claire Koch, 15.

This is the second year Champlin Park students have won the competition, and three of the five students who competed will travel to Washington DC to attend the national award ceremony.
