Florence M. Harakel, 97-year-old resident of Little Falls, MN, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, MN with Father Tim Wenzel officiating. Burial will take place in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery in Flensburg, MN. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN and from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, MN. Florence was born on May 2, 1922, in Swan River Township to the late Lawrence and Regina (Smuda) Posch. She attended District #20 school until the 8th grade. Florence was united in marriage to George Harakel on August 28, 1945 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, Minnesota. She enjoyed BINGO, cards, gardening, baking, canning, and quilt making. Florence was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She loved spending time with family and friends and especially loved hugging her grandchildren. She moved into St. Otto’s Care Center on September 22, 2004. Florence was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Rosary Sodality, and 4:30 p.m. Rosary at St. Otto’s. She was a devoted Catholic and had a special dedication to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Florence is survived by sons, Roger (Karen) Harakel, Dennis Harakel; daughters, Mary (Charley) Andres, Bernie (Dennis) Skroch; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, George; parents, Lawrence and Regina Posch; siblings, Sylvester Posch, Sadie Zoren, Esther Czech, Regina Masog, Gertrude Posch, and Theresa Czech. Pallbearers will be Florence’s grandsons.
