The Little Falls girls soccer team split a pair of contests, beating Melrose, 5-0, but falling, 3-1, to Cathedral.

First, the Flyers girls shut out Melrose, 5-0,

Little Falls was up 4-0 by halftime thanks to goals from Kendal Swantek, Ella Bjorge and two from Mikayla Houdek.

Hannah Jennings and Swantek both had assists.

Kylee Seidl netted the Flyers’ fifth goal in the second half on an assist from Joelle Vacek.

Ana Steadman stopped three shots in net for the shutout.

After a scoreless first half at Cathedral, Tuesday, the Flyer netted the first goal shortly before the end of the first half.

Houdek was able to get the ball through a bunch of traffic up to Swantek, who hit the back of the net.

However, the Crusaders were able to score three times in the second half to earn a win.

Steadman stopped 8-of-11 shots in net for the Flyers, who sit at 2-1-1.

Little Falls’ next game will be at home against Cathedral, Thursday, Sept. 24.

Flyer boys fall to Cathedral

The Little Falls boys soccer team lost its first game of the year after falling 3-0 to the Crusaders, Tuesday.

Cathedral scored 1:40 into the game, and the score remained, 1-0, Crusaders at halftime.

Midway into the second half, Cathedral scored twice more.

Ben Rekstad allowed only three goals on 26 shots in the net for the Flyers.

Next for the Flyers is a game at Melrose, Tuesday.
