Jacob Dempsey, 33, Long Prairie, is facing a charge in Morrison County District Court for allegedly fleeing police in a motor vehicle.
The charge stems from a July 1 incident, when investigators were following a suspect vehicle in Little Falls.
The vehicle allegedly sped up and the investigators tried to keep up, but could not keep up with the vehicle and their vehicle did not have emergency lights.
Other law enforcement vehicles caught up with the suspect vehicle and activated lights and sirens, but it allegedly continued to drive at a high rate of speed and passed other cars.
The vehicle eventually pulled off of the road and the occupants got out of the car.
The driver was identified as Dempsey and was arrested and taken to the Morrison County Jail.
Dempsey allegedly said he fled because he had warrants for his arrest in Todd County.
If convicted, Dempsey could face up to three years and one day in prison and/or a $5,000 fine.
