A father and his 2-year-old son have been hospitalized, after a skid loader they were passengers in rolled off a trailer.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office said that Tuesday, July 2, about 8:19 a.m., the report came in that a skid steer loader had rolled over on Nature Road just west of Highway 25, about five miles south of Buckman.

Jake Winscher, 18, of Royalton was driving a pickup pulling a trailer with a skid steer loader on it. Inside the skid steer was Chad Lanners, 28, of Sauk Rapids, and his 2-year-old son. Winscher was traveling on Nature Road when he lost control of the trailer, causing it to come unhitched and go into the ditch. The loader rolled off the trailer with Lanners and his son inside.

Lanners and his son were taken by ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital with unknown injuries.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Pierz Police Department, MLMB First Response Team and Mayo Clinic Ambulance.
