Eight people on a Little Falls Community Services trip to the Minnesota State Fair were injured during an accident involving two buses.
The Minnesota State Patrol said it received reports of the crash at about 10:20 a.m.
A bus was turning left onto Highway 280 when it went off the ramp and crashed into the median divider before being hit by a bus operated by Andy's Charter Service out of Little Falls, the Minnesota State Patrol said.
Including the driver, identified as Carrie Ann Gasperlin of Cushing, 50 people were on the bus from Little Falls, while the other bus was only occupied by the driver, according to the St. Paul Fire Department.
Little Falls Community Schools Supt. Stephen Jones said the bus was carrying people from the area to the Minnesota State Fair. All but one of the passengers were adults, he said.
Both drivers were taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center, the State Patrol said.
Six passengers were taken to hospitals in the area, the St. Paul Fire Department said.
None of the injuries were life-threatening, Jones said.
He said it is devastating to hear a bus from the community was in an accident like this.
Andy's Charter Service worked with another bus company to transport riders to Clearwater, where the Little Falls company would pick them up, Jones said.
The State Patrol is currently investigating the incident.
The Morrison County Record will add additional information as it becomes available.
