Volleyball is 4-1 over the weekend

The Magic volleyball team added four wins and one loss to its record on Saturday, Sept. 28.

The team is now 14-5 for the season with only three games left until they had into sectionals.

Monti defeated South St. Paul, St. Cloud Apollo, St. Anthony, and South Dakota’s Estelline High School 2-0, respectively.

The only team they lost to at the Cupcake Wars tournament in St. Anthony, was Providence Academy.

In the game against South St. Paul, Megan Wetter topped the charts with seven kills, two serve aces, and two blocks.

In the game against St. Cloud Apollo Wetter had seven kills again and Hallie Holker followed with four. Maddy Huschka lead the defensive stats with 7 digs.

In the match against St. Anthony the stats were more spread out with six kills from Wetter, five kills from Natalie Emmerich and Kaylee Stegora, four kills from Sam Cotter, and two kills from Holker and Sydney Lemke.

Against Estelline Wetter had eight kills out of 11 attempts. Holker had 15 sets and Lamke topped the list with three serve aces.

The team has been no stranger to winning this season and will carry that into their next few games.

For total season stats Wetter has 155 kills, Holker holds 273 sets, and Huschka has 183 digs.

The dynamic volleyball team will get up again against Becker tonight at 7 p.m. in the Monticello gym.
