On 07/10/19 the Wright County Sheriff’s Office officially declared a high-water emergency (MN Adm. Rules 6110.3700 Subp. 9) for Lake John in Corinna Township. This emergency declaration became necessary after potential property damage was documented by the Sheriff’s Office on Lake John. There have been signs posted on accesses to Lake John, specifically the public access as well as a private access on Nevens AV. NW. Boaters on Lake John are required to observe the 150 feet no wake requirement. This year’s heavy rain totals have made water levels in many of Wright County’s lakes extremely high. The Sheriff’s Office will continue to monitor Lake John as well as other lakes within Wright County and asks for the public’s cooperation in adhering to this emergency declaration as well as being mindful of high-water levels in lakes throughout the county.
