More than 200 high school musicians from 20 schools across Minnesota will participate in MarchFest 2018 March 20 at St. Cloud State University.

MarchFest will conclude with a festival concert at 5 p.m. March 20 by the Honor Bands comprised of all festival participants performing for parents and friends in Ritsche Auditorium.

Students will begin the day-long festival by meeting with guest conductors Alfred Watkins and Andrew Nelson. Throughout the day, St. Cloud State music faculty will hold teaching sessions for students while directors will attend sessions designed especially for them.

The St. Cloud State Wind Ensemble will perform for all participants at 3 p.m. March 20, conducted by Director Catherine Bushman and Husky Sports Band Director Michelle Bell. The concert will also feature the music of John Mackey with student conductor Ryan Green as well as the Rhapsody for Euphonium by James Curnow with student soloist Ryan Anselment.

Tickets for the festival concert are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Admission to the 3 p.m. Wind Ensemble Concert is free.

Students are participating from these high schools: Pierz Healy, Spring Lake Park, Milaca, Braham Area, Melrose Area, North (St. Paul), Becker, Buffalo, Holdingford, Apollo (St. Cloud), Eden Valley Watkins, Belle Plaine, Sartell, Foley, Onamia, Anoka, Sauk Rapids Rice, St. Cloud Tech, Big Lake and Monticello. Students from the St. Cloud Home School Band will also participate.
