The Buffalo PRCA Championship Rodeo in Buffalo, Minn. will celebrate their 65th anniversary June 20, 21 and 22.  The Buffalo Rodeo Committee is busy planning a big celebration including three performances, hiring America’s most entertaining rodeo clown and barrel man, Trent McFarland and providing music nightly in the beer garden.

Theme nights at the rodeo bring recognition to first responders, breast cancer survivors and military active duty and veterans.  Thursday June 20 is dedicated to First Responders, Friday June 21 to Tough Enough To Wear Pink (TETWP) breast cancer survivors, and Saturday June 22 to military active duty and veterans.  Rodeo fans are encouraged to wear pink on Friday night as the contestants will too.

Rodeo Clown Trent McFarland from Alabama will roll into the Buffalo Rodeo Grounds the third week in June. He will be ready to greet rodeo fans with his wit and arena comedy and sign autographs nightly.  He will join the Barnes PRCA Rodeo production team lead by Westin Barnes who provides all the bucking bulls and horses.  Bullfighters Miles Jones and Luke Moore bring the excitement as cowboy lifesavers. Davie Kimm, rodeo announcer along with assigned PRCA judges and pickup men will assist Barnes.

Beer Garden musical lineup includes: Thursday June 20, DJ Chopper; Friday June 21 Shane Martin Band, and Saturday June 22 Drop Tailgate.  The music will start after the last  bull is bucked in the rodeo performance

The Family Fun Night and Rodeo Kick-off Party is Wednesday June 19 beginning at 4 p.m. A free meal will be served.  Citizens can contribute monetary funds or bring non perishable food items for the Buffalo Food Shelf in the free will offering.  The evening activities include Mutton Bustin presented by Dairy Queen for children 5-8 years old.  The entry fee is $40 and pre-registration is available online or in-person beginning at 4 p.m.  The top riders from Family Fun Night will ride during the three Pro Rodeo performances.
