Football gears up for homecoming

Monticello went head to head against Rogers on Friday, Sept. 27.

The Magic lost 21-0.

In the first quarter Michael Olowo ran for a six-yard touchdown and Judd Anderson kicked for extra points.

In the third quarter, Easton Miller threw to Joe Moss for a 76-yard gain and extra points agin from Anderson, making it 14-0.

Ben Dahl ran for a 10-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter and the kick was good, with a final score of 21-0.

Players like Alex Opatz, Sam Valor, and Thomas Van Culin top the charts for over all season stats.

Passing yards: Opatz has 598 and Van Culin has seven.

Rushing yards: Valor has 385, Calvin Schmitz has 306, and Riley Banyai has 75.

Receiving yards: Van Culin has 180, Eli Kuhn has 172, and Jacob suter has 64.

Total tackles: Michael Johnston has 57, Suter has 35, and Jackson Pribyl has 31.

Sacks: Suter has 3.0, and Matt Koshiol and Carson Wolkerstorfers both have 0.5.

Monticello is now 1-4 with three games left in the regular season.

The team is gearing up for the homecoming game on Friday, Oct. 4 against Buffalo at 7 p.m.

Buffalo is currently 2-3 with victories over Chisago Lakes and St. Francis.
