As a result of the national opioid settlement, Wright County, Minnesota is positioned to receive more than 4 million dollars to be used for opioid-related initiatives. The Wright County Opioid Settlement Advisory Council (OSAC) has created a survey to better understand how community members and local professionals think the money would be best spent.
The survey is available at www.co.wright.mn.us/1125/Opioid-Settlement-Advisory-Council until February 3rd. Everyone is encouraged to share the survey link with friends, family, and colleagues. It takes about ten minutes to complete and is available in English and Spanish.
In addition to the online survey, paper copies can be requested by calling Wright County Public Health at 763-335-0280.
“The opioid epidemic has, and still is, affecting our entire community,” shares Caty Wurm, OSAC member and Outpatient Chemical Health Program Manager for Central Minnesota Mental Health Center. “Therefore, we need the entire community’s feedback on how best to approach a solution to the epidemic. Receiving a lot of responses from a variety of perspectives will give the Council more insight into how these funds can best help our community.”
The Council, consisting of local professionals and interested community members, was developed to ensure settlement funds are used to save lives with equitable evidence-based prevention, treatment, and recovery strategies.
