Students returned to the classroom with masks and Gov. Tim Walz made an appearance to greet students coming off the bus at Wyoming Elementary School on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Forest Lake Area Schools returned all students up through sixth grade to full in-person learning. Only half of the students returned to the middle school and high school on Tuesday, while the other half attended their first day of school on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
Gov. Tim Walz said in an address at Wyoming Elementary, “It’s definitely a different year ... but these are still students excited to see their teachers.”
Forest Lake Area Schools Superintendent Steve Massey said the district stands ready to pivot learning models if the COVID-19 case levels change.
