Spreading Christmas cheer, one donation at a time
Wyoming ushered in the start of the holiday season with a flurry of events on Saturday, Dec. 5. During the morning hours, “Santa Claus” caught a ride with members of the fire department to collect more than 100 toys from Wyoming residents to give to the Anonymous Santa of Chisago County project. The department also received a few hundred food items along with cash and card donations, what Wyoming Fire Chief Jesse Milligan called the city’s “most successful toy drive we have done.” All day long the police department had a truck posted at Bruce’s Foods as part of its “Stuff the Squad” drive. Later, at 5:30 Saturday evening, the city debuted a short Christmas video before Mayor Lisa Iverson counted down the lighting of the city’s Christmas tree located at Railroad Park. The video can be found at bit.ly/3oAfnz4.
