Town ball’s regular season has entered its final month, with the Forest Lake Brewers currently scheduled to take the field 12 times in July, including 10 dates at Schumacher Field and one trip to CHS Field, home of the St. Paul Saints, to play the Centennial Cougars July 17.
The Brewers, like most town ball squads, are taking the Independence Day week off and will pick up play on Sunday, July 7, at 2 p.m. with a home game against the St. Anthony Hogs. The Brewers will also appear at home July 9 at 7:30 p.m. against the Cougars, July 12 at 7:30 p.m. against the Champlin Logators, and Saturday at 2 p.m. for a doubleheader against the Anoka Bucs.
Last week, the Brewers suffered their first losses to Metro Minny League opposition, falling 10-4 to the Blaine Fusion June 25 and the Coon Rapids Redbirds 3-1 on June 28. In nonleague action, the Brewers lost to the Victoria Vics 10-4 on June 29.
The Brewers will come out of their holiday break with a 6-2 record in the MML (second place behind Blaine) and a 13-11 mark overall.
