Forest Lake police are investigating a theft that occurred in a detached Village Apartments garage the night of April 8 or the morning of April 9. According to police, the thief entered the garage and stole a number of items, including a Stanley toolbox with hand tools, drill bits and sockets; an Adidas duffel bag with skates, a baseball glove and hockey gloves; and a Ruger Blackhawk pellet gun. The stolen items are worth about $400. Police were uncertain if entry was forced, but the handle to the garage door was found broken off and lying on the ground nearby.

The theft from the garage was reported April 9. The same morning, another person who lives in the apartment complex reported that her GMC Yukon had been broken into via drilling or popping the driver’s door lock. The vehicle had been rifled through, and the dashboard had been removed so the thief could steal an in-dash radio receiver.
