LILA gives new voice to the Bard

Lakes International Language Academy presented “The Dream,” a play based on William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” Friday through Sunday, June 4-6. It was the U.S. premier for the play, which combined dialogue from Shakespeare’s original play with unique elements, such as a homage to the rock band a-ha’s hit “Take On Me.” “The Dream” was originally scheduled for a performance last spring, but that performance was canceled by the pandemic. The cast of “The Dream,” shown above, took part in the first non-musical performance at the school and the directorial debut of Meg Hirman, the theater teacher at the high school.
