Former Minnesota Wild player Jarod Palmer hosted his weekend hockey clinic in Forest Lake on Saturday, April 24, and Sunday, April 25. Palmer, a native of Fridley and now resident of Hugo, began Palmer Hockey Clinics following the end of his NHL hockey career. Players in grades 1-5 took the ice with Palmer and his coaches going through shooting, stick handling, and skating drills. While growing up in a blue-collar family, Palmer did not get access to world-class hockey instruction, something he now is trying to give back to kids who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity.
