The small May Township, located south of Scandia, has found itself in the middle of two recent criminal investigations.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, a body located on June 2 near the 17600 block of Manning Trail in May Township has been identified as Jose Natividad Genis Cuate, a 47-year-old male from Minneapolis.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office has determined Cuate died as a result of a homicide.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. The incident is currently under investigation. No other information has been released.

Then, on June 9, around 2:30 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a woman lying in the middle of the road near the intersection of Saint Croix Trail North and 124th Street North. The woman had been shot, and she was hospitalized after her discovery. No other information has yet been released about this case, either.
