A Spring Lake Park man was killed the evening of Oct. 5 after being struck by two vehicles headed south on Interstate Highway 35 in Wyoming.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Emmanuel Alessandro Lemus-Soto, 19, of Spring Lake Park, was reportedly standing in the middle of the southbound lanes of 35 less than a mile north of the highway’s intersection with Highway 8. He was hit first by a Toyota Rav4 driven by Daniel Joseph Dorland, 26, of Eden Prairie. This collision knocked him prone into the left southbound lane, where he was then hit by a Toyota Camry driven by Roger Tristen Thomas, 18, of North Branch. Thomas and Dorland were uninjured, by Lemus-Soto was declared dead at the scene. In addition to the State Patrol, officers from the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office, the Wyoming Police Department and the Forest Lake Police Department also assisted at the scene.
