Area students competed in the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225’s Oratorical Contest in January with Forest Lake resident and Chisago Christian School student Amos Glover earning first place for his speech on the morality of the Constitution. He then placed fourth at the district-level legion contest in mid-February. North Lakes Academy students Sophia Phillips earned second place; Dakota Hines won third place; and James Bolin won fourth for their speeches on the rights, duties and responsibilities of U.S. citizens based on the constitution.
