Spring Celebration visitors make bird kites at the kids nature crafts table.

The Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge’s Spring Celebration attracted about 115 visitors on Saturday, May 6.

This family-friendly event aimed to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day and the spring season. The day started off with a bird hike at Mahnomen Trail where migrating songbirds were observed. The Spring Celebration event began at 10 am at the Oak Savanna Learning Center and included booths to learn about birds, pollinators and plants that call the refuge home.
