A vehicle was reported stolen Nov. 1 after a woman left it running and unlocked while she went into the Circle K gas station on Zane Street in Elk River.

Elk River Police Capt. Bob Kluntz said the car was taken from there and the suspect was ultimately arrested in the parking lot of Target in Otsego. He is a 35-year-old man with no permanent address.

A phone the victim had in the vehicle was thrown out at the Lazydays RV lot in Ramsey.

Police bust underage party; 17 are cited

Seventeen people ranging in age from 15 to 20 were cited for underage consumption of alcohol after police busted a party Saturday, Nov. 2.

Police had responded to an anonymous report of a party in the 21000 block of Meadowvale Road in Elk River at 10:38 p.m. When officers arrived, they observed a large number of vehicles parked by a detached garage and smelled an odor of burned marijuana. Four to five people fled on foot and were not located, but the majority of the group was contained in the garage, according to the police report.

One of the people cited, a 19-year-old Elk River man, was also arrested on a Wright County warrant and taken to jail.

Some drugs and paraphernalia were confiscated as well, the police report stated.

The homeowner, a 48-year-old Elk River man, was cited for violation of Elk River’s social host ordinance.

Man arrested for felony assault

An Elk River man, 43, was arrested for felony domestic assault after the Elk River Police Department was alerted at 8:04 a.m. Nov. 1.

The suspect had left before police arrived, but was later located and taken into custody.

Wallet, speaker are taken from vehicle

Police were called at 2:09 a.m. Nov. 1 to a report of a theft from a motor vehicle at CDI Inc. in Elk River.

The victim said someone went into his unlocked vehicle between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. and took his wallet and a speaker that was between the two front seats.

The business is located at 17560 Tyler St.

Backpack leaf blower stolen from garage

A backpack leaf blower was reported stolen from a detached garage in Elk River. The theft occurred between Oct. 4 and 10 in the 1700 block os Tipton Circle.

The theft was reported to the police department Nov. 2.
