Incoherent man wanted on warrant
Police were called to 1105 Lions Park Drive in Elk River at 7:12 a.m. Sept. 20 on a report of an incoherent man on the stairs between the first and second floors. The 27-year-old Elk River man did not appear to be in medical distress and did not want an ambulance. He had a warrant out for his arrest and was taken to jail.
 
Credit cards stolen from woman’s purse   
A 51-year-old Zimmerman woman reported that two credit cards were stolen from her purse while at Perkins in Elk River. The theft was reported at 9:54 a.m. Sept. 23.
 
Lack of rear lights leads to DWI arrest
A 56-year-old Otsego woman was arrested for DWI after an officer on patrol observed a vehicle traveling east on Highway 10 with no rear lights activated. The officer pulled her over at Highway 10 and Oxford Avenue in Elk River and could smell a strong odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. When asked how much she had to drink, she said four drinks. 
The traffic stop happened at 12:43 a.m. Sept. 22.
 
Driver cited for pot after headlamp out
Police stopped a vehicle for having a headlamp out and subsequently cited the driver for marijuana and paraphernalia possession.
The stop was made at 9:02 p.m. Sept. 20 at Highway 10 and Proctor Avenue in Elk River. Cited was an Elk River woman, 36.
 
Police cite boy using e-cigarette device
An Elk River boy, 17, was cited for possession of tobacco after Elk River High School staff observed him walking in the parking lot while using an e-cigarette device around 7 a.m. Sept. 20. When questioned, the boy was cooperative and produced a black SMOK device. A container of liquid nicotine was in his vehicle. In addition to being cited, the student received school consequences and his parent was notified. The items were destroyed at the police department at the parent’s request.
