Mckenzie Elizabeth Aucapiña

Mckenzie Aucapiña, age 7, died Sunday, July 28, 2019. Mckenzie was born in Monticello, MN. She attended Eastview Education Center in Monticello and was currently enrolled at Zimmerman Elementary. She was a bright student and a friend to all that knew her. Mckenzie lived an active life in her few years on Earth. She was involved in many community and youth programs including the Sherburne county 4-H A to Zoo Club, gymnastics, soccer, dance and Irish dance. Mckenzie was also involved in the Awana youth programs at Becker Baptist Church and the Refuge Church in Zimmerman, MN. Mckenzie loved animals and was caretaker for eight rabbits, three horses, one cat and a dog. Mckenzie is survived by her loving parents Angel Aucapiña and Melanie Aucapiña (Scharpf), her older sister Mykailah Aucapiña and younger brother Eivan Aucapiña of Zimmerman; maternal grandparents Mike and Laura Scharpf of Union Grove, WI, Linda Scharpf and Roger Warren of Black River Falls, WI; paternal grandparents Alipio Aucapiña of Zimmerman and Blanca Rodriguez of Ecuador; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. We ask all family and friends to help us celebrate the life of Mckenzie on Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. at Dare’s Funeral Home, 805 Main St., Elk River. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 2 at The Refuge, 25620 Fourth St., Zimmerman, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. Dare’s Funeral Home, 763-441-1212, www.daresfuneralhome.com
