CAPTEL PRESENTATION

Monday, September 9 at 9:00 am. Did you know that there is technology for people with hearing loss that is absolutely free? It’s called CapTel, which is federally funded technology available for no cost to any U.S. resident that has any degree of hearing loss. Those that would like a CapTel are able to request one at the time of the presentation. Register in advance for this free presentation.

ON THE (MN) ROAD AGAIN, WITH DAN AND KORY EVERSON

Wednesday, September 11 at 1:30 pm. Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes, is also the land of 853 incorporated cities. Populations range from over 422,000 (Minneapolis) to 5 (Funkley). Dan and Kory Everson have visited every town in Minnesota on a whim. But, over the past 20 years, that whim turned into a passion which, last year, became a once in a lifetime accomplishment. Join us as they share their Minnesota travel story, the adventures they had along the way, and the amazing people they met who make Minnesota a true “heartland” state. Refreshments and an assortment of desserts will be served after the presentation. Fee is $2 for members and $4 non members. Register in advance.

BOB ROSS PAINTING CLASS

Tuesday, September 17 at 10:00 am. In this - hour class you will paint a picture using the Bob Ross Painting Method. All of the materials are included in the fee and no experience is necessary! Fee is $55 and the deadline to register is September 13.

HISTORY BUFFS

Thursday, September 19 at 9:30 am. Mike Brubaker, Executive Director of Sherburne History Center will be at the Activity Center to discuss the Versailles Treaty and the end of World War I. Free. Register in advance.

DE-CLUTTERING…WHERE DO I BEGIN?

Friday, September 20 at 10:00 am. Do you desire to de-clutter your life? Have you considered downsizing but have too much stuff? Do you struggle with parting with your things? Do you not know what to do with the things you are getting rid of? If you answered yes to any of these questions, join Laurie Wrobel of Clutter 911 for an interactive seminar on how to get started. She will also talk about how to help others struggling with these things and how to help someone who may be a hoarder. Register by September 18. Fee: free for members and $3 non members.

CARD BINGO

Friday, September 20 at 1:30 pm. Come give card bingo a try! A deck of cards is used instead of bingo cards. It’s very easy to learn and fun to play! You will win a prize if you have bingo! Make your own sundaes after card bingo! We will scoop the ice cream and you add the toppings! Fee: $3 members and $5 non members. Register by September 18.

K-9 DEMONSTRATION

Monday, September 23 at 11:00 am. All ages are invited to this fun and interesting intergenerational program. ERPD K-9 Officer Kevin Heldt and his partner Duke will join us at the Activity Center. Duke is a dual purpose K-9 trained in suspect apprehension and drug detection. Officer Heldt will tell us about Duke, demonstrate his skills and answer your questions. Free! BUNNY YOGA

Tuesday, September 24 at 11:00 am. Hop on over for Yoga fun with cute bunnies! FurEver Home Rescue will have several bunnies roam free while you enjoy a yoga class led by Yvonne Curran. Come try something new! You will leave class with a smile on your face! Space is very limited so you must register by September 19. Free! Please bring a monetary donation for FurEver Home Rescue.

LUNCH AND LEARN

Wednesday, September 25 at 11:45 am. Celebrate Women’s Health and Fitness Day by joining us for a healthy lunch followed by a short presentation. Lunch will be a salad, sandwich, fruit and a beverage. Becky Rudenick, LMT and Leslee Curtis, MSW, LGSW with Mary T. Hospice will talk to you about the benefits of massage therapy and meditation. You will learn self-care tips to help with relaxation, stress management and more! Door prizes will be given away after the presentation. Fee: $4 members and $6 non members. HONEY ALMOND SOAP MAKING CLASS

Tuesday, October 15 at 12:30 pm. Did you know you can make soap with honey? The honey helps your skin hold moisture and is naturally antibacterial. In this 1.5 hour class you will learn a soap making method that is safe, efficient, and fun! The soap making basics will be presented in a simple and user friendly manner. You will leave with 2 decorative bee soaps and a 3”x4” soap holder. Fee: $17 members and $20 non members. Register by September 24.

PALETTE KNIFE PAINTING

Friday, October 4 at 10:00 am. See a favorite photo come to life on canvas! Use your own photo as a guide while replicating the image onto a painting canvas with graphite. You will use a variety of palette knives (tools) and have fun using a unique technique to mix and apply paint to your canvas. That’s right, no paint brushes necessary! You will enjoy learning this fun and easy method for applying vibrant-colored paints to create your own impressionistic work of art! The class is instructed by Kris Holtmeyer, owner of Artistic Moments. Kris will also have a variety of photos for you to choose from to replicate if you don’t want to bring your own. Fee: $20. Register by September 30.

SKYROCK FARM AND CAROUSEL TRIP

Thursday, September 26 at 9:00 am. Visit Bill Nunn’s Skyrock Farm & Carousel. See his large collection of small carousels from around the world, a working carousel and an old-time musical circus organ. After the tour, you can enjoy lunch which includes chuck roast, roasted potatoes, salad, carrots, bread, and cake. Then you can watch a horse training/demonstration session and also tour the horse barns and grounds. Register by September 12. Fee is $57 members and $58 non members.
