Rare collector cars will be auctioned off on Saturday, July 20, by VanDerBrink Auctions, LLC. There is even an unusual 1916 Woods Model 3A Mobilette Roadster. The collection also includes Ford Model T’s and A’s. The collection has hundreds of brass lights, sheet metal and bodies.

The process of auctioning off Roger “Bill” Dickenson’s substantial collection of collector cars, vintage motorcycles, music boxes, pianos, children’s toys and so much more will begin on Friday, July 19, in Zimmerman.

That’s when the items will be on display for viewing at 28520 Seventh St. W. in Zimmerman. A two-day auction will be held on July 20 and 21.

Dickenson was the owner of the bus company that served the Elk River Area School District for many years before he sold it to Vision Transportation and turned his full attention to his passion for collecting and preservation. The Elk River man was an avid member of the area historical society and loved to go to swap meets.

Dickenson was a fixture at the Hershey Swap Meet in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and once he sold his business, he could afford to buy more.

Over the years, he accumulated many rare motorcycles, early cars and parts. Eventually, his days of collecting stopped. He died on Dec. 10, 2017, and his family has been going through his collections for nearly two years.

His collection includes many early Indian, Harley Davidson motorcycles including a rare 4-cylinder Indian motorcycle.

There also are project motorcycles, including a rare Wagner, motorcycles that were made in St. Paul.

The collection also includes brass era cars and parts up to early 1970s vehicles. Car companies that are merely a mention in encyclopedias can be found in the collection: a 1913 Carter Car, 1914 Saxon Runabout, 1906 Jackson Project and more.

There is even an unusual 1916 Woods Model 3A Mobilette Roadster. The collection also includes Ford Model T’s, A’s, and even a 1936 Oldsmobile Coupe. The collection has hundreds of brass lights, sheet metal and bodies.

There are slot machines, pinball machines and many other collectibles.

There is still more being found, and bidders are encouraged to come to the opening day for viewing and on the two auction days. There is already online bidding available on vehicles, motorcycles, and certain lots.

VanDerBrink Auctions, LLC will be conducting the sale of the Dickenson collection on July 20-21 starting at 9 a.m. each day. The auction will be held 25820 Seventh St. W. in Zimmerman.

Vehicles, parts, and motorcycles will be sold on July 20, and the collectibles will be sold on July 21.
