Detours start July 15 in Sherburne, Wright counties

Summer road construction season will be in full swing locally starting Monday, July 15.

Construction of the roundabouts on Sherburne County Road 13 at County Road 40 (Cleveland Street) and at County Road 33 (Viking Boulevard) will begin that day, as will  the replacement of a deteriorated culvert along Wright County Highway 39 (95th Street NE) will be closed between County Highway 19 (Labeaux Ave NE) and Odean Ave NE in Otsego.

The intersection of CSAH 13 and CR 40 will be completely closed and detoured during the construction of the roundabout. The detour route will utilize Sherburne CSAH 12, Anoka CSAH 22, Anoka County Road 65, and Sherburne CSAH 33. Most of the construction is anticipated to be completed by the end of August, before school starts.

The detour is expected to be removed at that time. There will be other work continuing through the middle of September.   

The intersection of CSAH 13 and CSAH 33 will remain open during the construction of the roundabout.

Construction will be performed in stages to accommodate traffic through the construction site. The roundabout is anticipated to be completed by the end of September.

County Highway 39 (95th Street NE) will be closed between County Highway 19 (Labeaux Ave NE) and Odean Ave NE in Otsego for the replacement of a culvert located just west of Nashua Avenue.

Local traffic will be allowed to access their homes along County Highway 39 between Highway 19 and Odean Avenue NE, but there will be a hard closure (no traffic allowed) at the location of the culvert replacement (just west of Nashua Ave NE).

It is anticipated that the work will take between seven and ten days, weather permitting.

Highway department officials encourage people to plan their trips in advance while this detour is in place — allowing the time necessary to arrive at your destination safely and on time.
