Abby Turkowski certainly saved her best for last.
The Little Falls eighth grade golfer shot her two best rounds of the season at the Class AA State Golf Meet at Ridges at Sand Creek Tuesday and Wednesday.
Turkowski finished with a two-day total of 168 after shooting, tying for 20th place.
She kicked off the tournament with a season-best 83 on day one of the tournament. She followed with another solid round of 85 on day two, earning the best finish out of anyone in her section. She finished seventh individually at sections.
The Red Wing Wingers were the Class AA girls team champs, and they also had the low individual in Sophia Yoemans, who shot 69-69= 138.
Section champion and recent Little Falls Community High School graduate, Ethan Ballou, also participated in state at the same course Tuesday and Wednesday.
Ballou had a rougher start, shooting an 85 on day one, but bounced back with a solid 79 on day two for a two-day total of 164.
The total placed him in a tie for 44th place. His total of +20 was in spite of a pair of triple bogeys and a trio of double bogeys, meaning apart from those five holes, he was +8 over 31 holes.
Holy Family Catholic was the Class AA boys state champs after dominating back-to-back score of +22 (310). Red Wing senior Cecil Belisle was the low individual after shooting one-under overall and a three-under 69 on day two.
