The area Legion season is officially under way.

The Royalton Legion baseball season got underway with a 6-2 loss at Melrose, June 6.

Brady Petron pitched five innings, allowing five runs and striking out two. He took the loss for Royalton.

Adam Beam and Petron each went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Royalton took an early lead after Beam scored on a Gavin Suska fielders choice.

Melrose opened up the game with two runs in the third and four more in the fourth.

Ethan Walcheski did add another run with a sac fly in the sixth inning.

Next on the schedule for Royalton is a matchup with Upsala Swanville in Upsala, Monday.
