A suspect is in custody after allegedly shooting a Stearns County Sheriff's Deputy with an arrow in Sauk Centre, Thursday.
The incident began with a report that a pickup truck had slammed into a building in Sauk Centre.
At about 11 a.m., Law enforcement from the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Stearns County Sheriff's Office, Sauk Centre Police Department and more responded to a report of shots being fired after a Sheriff's deputy was shot in the arm with an arrow, the Stearns County Sheriff's Office said.
Law enforcement then fired and the suspect barricaded himself in a residence. The surrounding neighborhood was evacuated during the incident.
Negotiators and officers spoke with the individual, who was taken into custody just before 1 p.m.
The injured deputy was taken to the hospital, where the injury was determined to be non-life threatening, the Sheriff's Office said.
Stearns County Sheriff Don Gudmundson will be giving a statement at 3 p.m. Thursday in front of the Law Enforcement Center in St. Cloud.
