Once again the Perfect 10 event, the North Branch Area Education Foundation’s (NBAEF) primary fundraising event for the year, was an unqualified success! It was a wonderful event full of laughter, entertainment, and of course, raising money to enhance the education of students at North Branch Area Public Schools.
The NBAEF’s Perfect 10 has been wildly successful since its inception of raising funds that are then used in a variety of ways that benefit youth in the school district. If you are curious as to the many ways the foundation and event have impacted kids, follow this link: www.nbaef.org/grants.html. It is remarkable to see the difference the foundation makes in local education.
Last Saturday, attendees at the Perfect 10 raised over $15,000 in mere minutes to provide much needed guitars and keyboards for school music programs as part of the “Fund a Dream” portion of the evening. Overall, it is estimated the event brought in $46,000! Many thanks are owed the foundation board: Kim Theis, Kris Greene, Rebecca Chambers, Connie Blomquist, Terry Nelson, Jessica Young, Lorraine Moeller, and Kevin Orf, as well as the school district’s foundation liaison Brett Carlson and his staff.
Entertainment was provided by the A Capella group “The Cat’s Pajamas” and members of the group were gracious enough to come to the high school on the Friday before the show to spend significant time with choir students talking about music and performance, and singing of course.
School staff now have the opportunity to apply to the foundation for small grants to fund equipment, field trips, technology, and myriad other enhancements that will enrich the educational experience here at NBAPS.
For roughly a decade now the North Branch Area Education Foundation has worked, alongside the school district, to inspire dreams, build integrity, and instill hope, and we could not be more proud or thankful to partner with the great people that make it such a success.
