This week, North Branch Area Public Schools (NBAPS) is making public for the first time the district “app” for families and community members. We are excited about some of the features it provides!
You will find the top stories from the school district right on the home page, along with news, notifications, and calendar functions. The calendar is customizable and allows you to choose from a menu of event calendars maintained at each school. Select them all; select just one, or any number in between. It’s up to you!
Much of the functionality of the app comes from the “I want to...” dropdown menu at the school district’s website (www.isd138.org), which has proven to be an affective way for users to quickly access the content they are looking for.
Of course, notifications will be used in case of weather-related schedule changes and is integrated with the district’s mass communication system. Notifications will be sent at the same time as the traditional e-mails and phone calls.
You will be able to access a wide variety of NBAPS social media accounts and school district resources like school websites, student-parent handbooks, Activities news and registration, lunch menus, and more.
Users can access their “Here Comes the Bus” accounts, log into ParentVUE, pay for meals and activities, register for Community Education classes and opportunities, and utilize the staff directory.
As with any new technology we expect there to be a few hiccups along the way, but we are confident families will find great benefit from having such a wide variety of school district functions and information “under one roof,” as they say.
The app is available for both Android and Apple devices, and will be found by searching “North Branch Area PS” in the respective app stores. Of course, it is a free app!
Look for more promotion and information about the app in our buildings, newsletters, website, and press releases.
