I, Senator Mark Koran, have filed for re-election to the Minnesota State Senate representing Senate District 32 encompassing most of Isanti and Chisago counties.
As a newly elected senator four years ago, I was tasked with the many needs for this Senate District. Obtaining the majority in the Senate was instrumental in bringing some of those changes and needs. The Senate was able to stop the gas tax, anti-gun laws, tax increases and cruel spending cuts to nursing homes – to name a few. We were able to fund our schools, highways and bridges, pass tax cuts, reduce taxes for small businesses and farmers, also reformed pharmacy middleman laws, all of which were a great boost to our economy and your bank account.
I have been a strong leader in representing the District by bringing more focus on our key needs, broadband accessibility, investments in our roads (which includes improvements to Highway 8 in Chisago and working to bring improvements to the highway railroad crossing on Highway 95 in Cambridge), $2.5M for Swedish Immigrant trail, $3M for the Chisago County Communications Center, $40,000 for Isanti County Historical Society ... and I worked with Cambridge City Council to bring forward the enabling legislation for the taxpayer approved local option sales tax funding road, park and the new library.
There is still more work to do. I will never take my position for granted. I will lead boldly while working for less government intrusion, to bring jobs back and keep taxes down. I will continue to lead responsibly while protecting our rights with a sensible, commonsense approach. My door is always open at the Capitol, stop by with your concerns or reach out to me at Mark@Markkoranmn.com. Thank you for the opportunity to represent you the last four years and I humbly ask for your vote in November.
