A 20-year-old Isanti man was killed following a one-vehicle crash on Oct. 19, near Viking Boulevard and Highway 65, in East Bethel.
According to a press release from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, on Oct. 19, at 9:03 a.m., the East Bethel Fire Department, Allina Ambulance, Minnesota State Patrol and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office responded to single vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 65 and Viking Boulevard Northeast in East Bethel.
Upon arrival, first responders located a 2017 Chrysler 300 sedan with a single occupant, Reiley Patrick Hoopman, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigation suggests the vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 65, went off the road and crashed into a traffic control light. The northbound lanes of Highway 65 at Viking Boulevard were shut down for an extended period of time while the crash was investigated.
This incident remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol, Midwest Medical Examiners Office and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
