Cambridge-Isanti Schools is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Nathan Rudolph as interim superintendent, replacing outgoing Superintendent, Dr. Ray Queener, who announced his resignation in May.
Dr. Rudolph comes to C-I from Sauk Rapids-Rice district where he is a middle school principal. He has served the Sauk Rapids-Rice district since 2000 as a teacher, activities director and principal.
During that time Dr. Rudolph participated in various aspects of district leadership including referendum planning, strategic planning, school safety and security and implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
Dr. Rudolph grew up on a farm in southern Minnesota, and earned his bachelor’s degree in Education and his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Southwest Minnesota State University. He earned his Principal and Superintendent Licensure and his Doctorate in Educational Administration and Leadership from Saint Cloud State University. Throughout the interview process Dr. Rudolph emphasized the importance of building trusting relationships with the staff, students and community as a foundation for the district’s success. He also mentioned his network of superintendent mentors who he will look to for support as he begins his journey with C-I.
The School Board chose to do an interim process given the timing related to the beginning of the school year. Discussion and determination of the process for a permanent replacement will take place this fall.
Contract negotiations with Dr. Rudolph will begin on Aug. 19 with a specific start date to be determined. The Cambridge-Isanti Board of Education will finalize and act on his contract after an agreement is reached.
