Almelund ‘Nights on the Town’
Meet up with your friends and neighbors on Friday, Aug. 30 for an old-fashioned community get-together. Celebrate Summer with “Music In Triangle Park” provided by Inter State Band from 6-7 p.m. (In case of rain, concert will be in the Amador Town Hall - next to the Mercantile). Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, a picnic supper. Don’t want to cook? Order fresh-made pizza or subs from Rod’s Country Corner, or - “Sausage on a Stick” meal-deals are available at the Almelund Mercantile. Come early to check out the Farmers Market, located at Rod’s held Fridays from 3-6 p.m. during the summer months. Take a stroll through the Amador Heritage Center grounds. The museum will be open from 5-7 p.m. Stop and enjoy a trip back in local history. Family Fun Nights are held at Triangle Park, Almelund. Almelund is located on Highway 95 between North Branch and Taylors Falls.

>Summer Food Backpack Program
Trinity Lutheran Church of North Branch is distributing free bags of food and books every Wednesday from 3-6 p.m. at Stacy Lions Park as well as from the church at 38460 Lincoln Trail North Branch. Each bag contains enough food to feed a child a minimum of three lunches. Each child receives their own bag. Free books also available. Stop by any Wednesday through Aug. 28.

>Free Concert in the Park in North Branch
A free concert at Central Park in North Branch will be held at 7 p.m. featuring the Pierre Jacques Pleau-Kids Violin Concert featuring Bluegrass, Celtic and Scandinavian music. Following the music, the movie “Sing!” will be shown at dusk. Beginning at 6:15 p.m., there will be food trucks, a bounce house, portable splash pad features and yard games.
Saturday, Sept. 7
>Peace Walk in Cambridge
The bi-monthly peace walk in Cambridge will take place at 9 a.m. The group meets in the parking lot at Highway 95 and Birch Street, and the walk takes about half an hour. They try to keep their messages positive, supporting equal rights and justice for all, protection of our environment and an end to violence. Anyone is welcome to join. They walk on the first and third Saturdays of every month.
>Oktoberfest at St. John’s German Lutheran Church
The 11th annual Oktoberfest, an annual fundraiser and community recognition event, will be held from 4-8 p.m. at the Historic St. John’s German Lutheran Church of Bradford, 900 County Road 5 NW, Isanti. Tickets are $18 in advance or $20 at the door. All proceeds go toward the upkeep and maintenance of the church.
