Almelund ‘Nights on the Town’
Meet up with your friends and neighbors on Friday evenings Aug. 2 and Aug. 30 for an old-fashioned community get-together. Celebrate Summer with “Music In Triangle Park” provided by Inter State Band from 6-7 p.m. (In case of rain, concert will be in the Amador Town Hall - next to the Mercantile). Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, a picnic supper. Don’t want to cook? Order fresh-made pizza or subs from Rod’s Country Corner, or - “Sausage on a Stick” meal-deals are available at the Almelund Mercantile. Come early to check out the Farmers Market, located at Rod’s held Fridays from 3-6 p.m. during the summer months. Take a stroll through the Amador Heritage Center grounds. The museum will be open from 5-7 p.m. Stop and enjoy a trip back in local history. Family Fun Nights are held at Triangle Park, Almelund. Almelund is located on Highway 95 between North Branch and Taylors Falls.
Wednesdays, through Aug. 28
>Summer Food Backpack Program
Trinity Lutheran Church of North Branch is distributing free bags of food and books every Wednesday from 3-6 p.m. at Stacy Lions Park as well as from the church at 38460 Lincoln Trail North Branch. Each bag contains enough food to feed a child a minimum of three lunches. Each child receives their own bag. Free books also available. Stop by any Wednesday through Aug. 28.

>Peace Walk in Cambridge
The bi-monthly peace walk in Cambridge will take place at 9 a.m. The group meets in the parking lot at Highway 95 and Birch Street, and the walk takes about half an hour. They try to keep their messages positive, supporting equal rights and justice for all, protection of our environment and an end to violence. Anyone is welcome to join. They walk on the first and third Saturdays of every month.
>Neil Diamond Tribute Concert
All are invited to a Neil Diamond Tribute Concert by Matt Vee at the Braham Event Center, 655 Eighth St. SW, Braham. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. for this free event, made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the East Central Regional Arts Council. Come early for a summer picnic meal, serving from noon to 5:30 p.m., $7.50 per ticket for the meal, with cash bar available.

>First Lutheran of Harris Outdoor Service
First Lutheran Church of Harris (located at the intersection of Gates Avenue and 438th Street) will hold its annual outdoor service at 10 a.m. Music will be provided by the First Lutheran Church Praize Band with Larry and Bev Rose. Enjoy a free picnic lunch. There will also be a quilt raffle and silent auction, beginning at 9 a.m. Free-will offering will be taken. Special thanks to Thrivent for donations.

Wander through a showcase of classic cars while enjoying complimentary food and beverages. Live dancing music will be provided by the Rose Family Band. A free concert at Central Park (6250 Main St.) in North Branch will be held at 7 p.m. featuring a DJ in honor of Night to Unite. Following the music, the movie “Trolls” will be shown at dusk. Beginning at 6:15 p.m., there will be food trucks, a bounce house, portable splash pad features and yard games.
History of Rush City Hospital Auxiliary
Maureen Sybrant will provide a program about the Rush City Hospital Auxiliary at the Rushseba Town Hall (51533 Forest Blvd.) at 7 p.m. This is a monthly meeting of the North Chisago Historical Society. The public is invited to attend and if you have artifacts or photos, bring them along to share.

The public is invited to an Isanti County Master Gardeners Food Preservation educational presentation by Isanti County Master Gardener Julie Annis. In this presentation, Annis will talk about general food preservation concepts and how to keep your garden produce safely stored for future use. She will provide information about dehydrating, canning, freezing, fermentation and pickling along with jams and jelly making. The presentation will be held at 7 p.m. on the lower level of the Isanti County Government Center in Cambridge.
